Chain Selecting Faces of a Solid

 

Selection Options:

When Chain is the active selection method, the following button options appear in the Conversation Bar to aid in the filtering of the faces of a solid/surface body:

Smooth – This method allows for the selection of all smoothly-connected faces connected to the selected face.

Bump - This method allows for the selection of all cavity or protrusion faces connected to the selected face.

Blend - This method allows for the selection of blend faces connected to the selected face. When this method is selected, two additional options appear: All and Constant (see below).

All – This option allows for the selection of all blend faces connected to the selected face.

Constant - This method allows for the selection of all constant radius blend faces that can be removed from the selected face. The blend faces must be connected to the selected face.

Side - This method allows for single selection of all faces of a sheet metal solid.

Rib - This method allows for the selection of all rib faces connected to the selected face.

Pocket - This method allows for the selection of all pocket faces connected to the selected face.

Boss - This method allows for the selection of all boss faces connected to the selected face.

Pattern - This method allows for the selection of all patterned faces connected to the selected face.

Primitive - This method allows for the selection of all sets of faces in the part that are either from the same cone, cylinder, torus, sphere or box (block).
