The Break First function can be used to break the first entity based on its intersection with an indicated second entity.

Using the Function:

1. Select First from the Curve>Modify>Break First Ribbon area.

2. Select the segment of the break entity that you want to retain its original attributes.

3. Select an intersecting entity near the position where you want the break to occur. The break is performed on the entity.
