KeyCreator Prime / Tools / Settings / Customize Application / Setup
Through the Setup dialog page, you can configure settings specific to program startup, such as what language or Mouse Manipulation Scheme to open with.
The Setup Option page allows a set of language files, if avaiable, to be used in place of the default English files.
Dialog Options:
Driver Type
This setting controls which type of graphics acceleration strategy will be used to speed up operations such as rotate and zoom.
-
Hardware OpenGL (default) – Advantage is taken of hardware acceleration of OpenGL provided by the graphics hardware (video card) in the system. With the proper hardware correctly configured the performance improvement is significant. Some video cards are not fully compatible with the OpenGL calls used in the program, causing display problems including potential program crashes.
-
Hardware OpenGL2- Same as above but you will need to verify driver support for OpenGL2 with your display vendor and download a display driver that supports the format if possible. Reports indicate significant improvement in performance over the older OpenGL (default) setting. It is advised not to use this setting if you can't verify the support for OpenGL2 with the display card being used.
-
Software OpenGL – OpenGL rendering algorithms are used to accelerate the display but the program does not take advantage of any hardware acceleration provided by the video card. This option avoids problems caused by incompatible graphics hardware.
NOTES:
-
Changing the Driver Type setting will not affect windows that are currently open.
-
Hardware acceleration can also be disabled at the operating system level (Control Panel>Display>Settings>Advanced>Troubleshooting).
Startup Language Selection
Specify a startup language from the drop-down menu. This option will only appear if the Custom install routine had been used to install your copy of KeyCreator.
Mouse Manipulation Scheme
Specify what mouse buttons will do based on specific application norms.

Specify what Template file will be used when opening a new file. Click on the BROWSE (…) button to browse for an existing file.
Automatically Loaded CDE’s
CDE’s that appear in this field will load automatically at startup, and will be available from the Add-Ins Menu. To add a CDE to this list, click on the NEW icon. To remove a CDE from the list, click on the delete ICON. Use the arrow-up or arrow-down icons to move a selected CDE up or down accordingly in the list.
This function is not enabled in KeyMachinist products.
Allow Collection of anonymous data
Enabled this feature allows collection of tasks performed during a KeyCreator session. This data can then be used to track future enhancement needs and possibly capture errors that occur during a session, which can then be addressed by development.
