KeyCreator Tools Machinist Path by Geometry

Use the Geometry feature to create a machinable toolpath from geometry. When this feature is selected, the Geometry to Toolpath dialog appears, through which you are able to specify a toolpath description, and plunge clearance and linearization tolerance settings, among others. Once you have configured the available settings, select OK.

Dialog Options:
KeyCreator Tools Machinist Special Geometry
Toolpath Description

Specify a name or description for the toolpath being created.

Plunge Clearance

Specify a height above the cutting plane at which the Z-Axes will go into feed mode.

Linearization Tolerance

Specify a deviation value allowed from the original geometry when converting to linear moves.

Chain Tolerance

Specify a value for the largest acceptable gap between geometry when chaining segments together.

Interrupted Cuts
  • Connect – When selected, and when doing multiple curves that are separated by space, a straight line will be created from the end of one path to the beginning of the next.

  • Retract – When checked, and when doing multiple curves that are separated by space, the cutting tool will jump to the rapid traverse plane, then move from the end point of one path to the beginning of the next. The tool will then set back down in Z and machine the next curve.

Current Tool and Machine View

Verify that the machining view, tool diameter, and corner radius are correct.
